The Mang Den victory monument system is a monolithic stone sculpture located in the center of the square of KonPlong district with a total investment of more than 5 billion VND. This work includes 3 groups of statues placed on reinforced concrete pillars with a height of nearly 20 meters facing east - west - southwest. Going back to the history of the resistance war years, Mang Den was originally considered the trade gateway of Vietnam. Kon Tum province, during the resistance war against the US, Kon Plong was a revolutionary base area of ​​Zone 5 with very important strategic significance, contributing to bridging the North-South communication corridor, and being a gathering place for forces. of our main army units. Therefore, the land of Kon Plong was built by the US puppet into a solid military point, especially the Mang Den area, to threaten the revolutionary spirit of our army. On October 30, 1974, we neutralized the army. The enemy destroyed 226 people, captured 539 guns of all kinds, and liberated more than 2,000 people from the enemy's grip. The Mang Den victory contributed to expanding the liberated area, creating new position and strength for the major campaign to liberate the Central Highlands, paving the way to liberate the South and unify the country.
