The Măng Đen National Ecotourism Area (Kon Tum) is an attractive destination that draws tourists during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.

The cultural space "Tây Nguyên Paradise" in Măng Đen town, Kon Plông district, Kon Tum province, is a place where 5 traditional communal houses have been reconstructed, along with various objects related to the daily life of ethnic minorities. With its cool and temperate climate, as well as the preservation of pristine natural beauty, Măng Đen offers an ideal holiday destination. Therefore, local authorities place special emphasis on recreational and entertainment activities, closely linked to cultural experiences of the local ethnic minorities.

According to the Department of Culture and Information of Kon Plông district, even though the Hung Kings' Temple Festival and the 48th Anniversary of the Reunification Day are still a few days away, all the hotels and accommodations in Măng Đen town are nearly fully booked. Local authorities of Kon Plông district and Kon Tum province are diligently preparing for the upcoming activities.

Mr. Đặng Đình Toán, Head of the Department of Culture and Information in Kon Plông district, stated that the capacity of hotels and accommodations in the Măng Đen National Ecotourism Area is around 3,500 to 4,000 visitors per day. As of now, tourists have already made reservations for the nights of April 29, 30, and May 1. Furthermore, due to the extended holiday period, the number of bookings for May 2 and 3 is also quite substantial.

To prepare for the holiday, the functional departments in Kon Plông district have held discussions with hotel owners and accommodations to ensure the safety of tourists. Besides offering lodging to tourists, homestays and community-based tourism villages also organize outdoor activities and cultural experiences to allow visitors to immerse themselves in nature, culture, people, traditional cuisine, and customs of the local ethnic minorities.

Talented artisan Ưu tú Y Lim, from Kon Bring community-based tourism village in Măng Đen town, shared that during the upcoming holiday, their village can accommodate from 200 to 300 guests per day. In addition to preparing traditional dishes and Ca Dong ethnic dances, tourists can also experience a new tourist attraction: a suspension bridge in the village. All the rooms at Kon Bring community-based tourism village have been fully booked for the holiday.

From April 27 to May 3, the district has planned various cultural activities for tourists to visit, experience, and enjoy, including an exhibition called "Tây Nguyên Paradise - Măng Đen Cultural Space," a farmers' market, showcasing local products, and the announcement of the new Vi Rơ Ngheo tourist destination in Đăk Tăng commune, the inauguration of a pedestrian street and the culinary delights of Măng Đen. The preparation work is underway and promises to offer a complete holiday experience to the tourists, as emphasized by Mr. Đặng Đình Toán.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, in the first quarter of 2023, the province attracted more than 600,000 tourists for sightseeing and leisure, reaching 46.18% of the yearly plan, a 2.7-fold increase compared to the same period. The estimated revenue was 246.5 billion VND, with Măng Đen National Ecotourism Area alone welcoming 230,000 visitors. With thorough preparations for holidaymakers, Kon Tum expects to achieve and exceed its annual target of receiving 1.3 million visitors.
